Don’t Beat That Bot – He’s Just a Dummy

I’ve seen the movie EX Machina, I don’t care how cute robots are, I don’t trust them. So I was surprised when I started feeling sorry for a robot on Youtube. This bot was being beaten mercilessly.

This video has 85 million views. About the third or fourth time I had watched it, my sorrow turned into suspicion.

I went to Corridor, the Youtube creator site who produced the video. The robot, named ‘Bosstown Dynamic’ was not real. It was a digital parody of Atlas, a real robot built by Boston Dynamic. Had I been entertained, misinformed or deceived?

Imagine this RoboCop (video) knocking on your door late at night for snoring too loud. Of course he could hear you from the station.
