Once there was a church that had a lot of employees. They hired a professional psychologist and asked for his advise. So he advised them to conduct interviews with employees in certain departments. The employees were told that their interview was a sort of ‘employee satisfaction’ survey. So the psychologist and some administrative staff met with those employees and asked some probing questions of each employee. Many churches go to great lengths a considerable costs to entice people to attend one of their services. They have committee meetings to brainstorm on how to get the word out about the benefits of their ministry. They may also survey their congregations for ideas. They print fancy flyers and invitations and encourage their members to pass them out to family and friends. They plaster billboards around their neighborhood. An aside: It’s apparent that many church billboards were committee-designed. They read more like booklets than blurbs. The more affluent churches, and even some pretenders, hire pricey marketing consultants to help guide them through the turbulent waters of advertising. Continue Reading →
