ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Being a wife and mom has been an all-consuming joy for more than thirty years. Now that all my children are grown, my time spent helping them, though never ending, is much diminished. Now that I have more time on my hands, a long-standing interest I've had in quilting has grown into a passion.

I have been married to an artist for many, many years, so I have an idea of how the creative process works. Now, in quilting, I find myself being creative in ways I never before imagined .

I thank God and my Lord Jesus for the talent He is drawing out of me.
About Peggie
Growing up in rural Arkansas, Peggie saw her mother and other relatives quilt out of necessity to cover them from the cold winters that blew across frozen fields and through stands of oak and pine trees. Many of the quilts were made from worn-out clothes and flower sacks. Batting often came from the cotton grown in family fields. After the cotton was picked, it was taken to the local gin where seeds were removed. Most of the cotton was sold, however, some was held back for their quilts. If the clothes were too tattered, they too were used as batting.

Peggie continued to quilt from time to time, but found the inspiration to pursue it with a passion after her children went off to college. One day when she went down into her basement, she saw the mountain of material she had collected over the years. Seeing that and some television shows about quilting fueled her desire to get busy. Now she uses her talents to produce unique blends of old school and contemporary design quilts.

Peggie has quilted beautifully custom-designed quilts for her daughters as gifts honoring them for their accomplishments in college. She continues produce quilts which she uses as gifts for family members and close friends.
